Tanu Weds Manu director will shoot film in Pakistan

The film will star Abhay Deol, Diana Penty and Ali Fazal of the Fast and Furious 7 fame

After the box-office success of Tanu Weds Manu and its sequel, director Aanand L Rai is on a roll. He is now planning to produce a film and has expressed the desire to shoot parts of the film in Pakistan.

Abhay Deol and Diana Penty are said to be playing the lead roles in the cross-border love story titled Happy Bhaag Jayegi. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror,  Aanand confirmed the news that he wants to shoot some sequences in Pakistan.



He said, "It's a lighthearted romcom based in Amritsar and Lahore. The two cities are close to each other and we do wish to shoot certain portions in Pakistan. We have applied for permissions."

Aanand is awaiting a positive response as he said, "Mine is a fun film and it does not raise any political issues."

The Mudassar Aziz directorial also stars Ali Fazal of the Fast and Furious 7 fame.

Without revealing any further details about his upcoming film, Aanand said, "We are looking to kick off at the end of August or the first week of September."

Aanand has previously directed Abhay in Ranjhaana. The actor will be starring with Diana for the first time. Let's see how their chemistry rolls on the silver screen.
