LAHORE:

Election Tribunal Judge Kazim Ali Malik on Saturday adjourned the hearing of a petition by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan challenging the victory of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq from NA-122.

The hearing was put off after counsel for Sadiq informed the court he was busy at Lahore High Court. Anees Ali Hashmi, counsel for the PTI, accused Sadiq’s lawyer of resorting to delaying tactics. He told the media it appeared that the PML-N was finding it hard to respond to rigging claims of the PTI. At a previous hearing, Barrister Asjad Saeed, counsel for Sadiq, had said that after examining the polling record, both the NADRA and local commission had stated that no rigging had taken place.
