Heavy Downpour: School damaged by landslide

The landslide occurred due to heavy downpour in the village

MINGORA: A government-run primary school for boys was partially damaged by a landslide in Matta tehsil of Swat district on Wednesday. A Matta police official Syed Ahmad Khan said the incident occurred in a remote mountainous area called Balat Shour. The landslide occurred due to heavy downpour in the village. Khan said one of the rooms in the facility was destroyed while another was partially damaged. No loss of life was reported as the school is closed for summer vacations, he added. About 220 children are enrolled with the school.
