Improving skill base: FPCCI backs academia-industry ties

FAISALABAD: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Mian Muhammad Idrees has emphasised the need of cementing the academia-industry ties to address the problems of industry and business community in a bid to help the economy flourish. He was talking to the participants of an academia-industry meeting as chief guest at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). Idrees said strong academia-industry linkages were the prerequisite to facing the new challenges of the 21st century. He said the key to economic growth was the human resource equipped with knowledge and technology to respond to the world market and growth of economy. The FPCCI president recommended to the UAF to introduce new skill development courses for the labour class to the top management to enhance their capability.
