Cheating the public: NAB arrests two for corrupt practices

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Malik Irshad Ahmad, a sub-divisional officer at the Punjab Irrigation Department for his alleged involvement in corruption by accumulation of assets disproportionate to his declared sources of income.      


The accused is in possession of movable and immovable assets worth of Rs67 million, said a NAB official.

The accused started his career as a low-grade employee in the irrigation department and has made assets worth of millions.

In another case, NAB arrested Muhammad Ahmed Nadeem, son of Raja Fateh Khan, the director of Ahmed Nadeem Securities Pvt Limited.

He was allegedly involved in corruption by cheating the public.

The accused dishonestly and fraudulently collected Rs85 million from the
public and later refused to return the money or shares, thus depriving
people of their hard-earned money.
