Road side bomb went off near Deputy Superintendent Police Zahoor Khan’s vehicle

DI KHAN: A police official was injured when a road side bomb went off near Deputy Superintendent Police Zahoor Khan’s vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan on Friday, officials said.

DSP Zahoor Khan remained unhurt in the explosion.

“I was on my way to Daraban tehsil when my vehicle was hit by an IED that was planted on the roadside near Gara Mastan,” the DSP told The Express Tribune.

“One of my guards, Abdul Hameed was injured,” he added, while the rest of the men in the car and he, himself, remained unhurt.

The injured were shifted to DHQ hospital.

On April 29, a security official was killed and two others injured in Dera Ismail Khan when a roadside bomb exploded near their vehicle as they were on their way to Kulachi.

A Kulachi police official said the security officials were passing through Hethala when a bomb planted on the side of a road went off, killing Subedar Khalid and injuring two others.
