KARACHI:


Former IBSF amateur world champion Muhammad Asif continued his winning streak at the ACBS Asian Snooker Championship as he defeated Thailand’s Kaettikun Boonyarit 4-0 in his third match of the tournament in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday.


Asif comfortably took his first frame 101-35 in the Group F match and outclassed his opponent 72-16 with a break of 66 in the next. He then went on to seal the win in the following two frames 78-14, 79-61.


Meanwhile, Islamabad-based cueist Shahram Changezi registered his second win in Group M after defeating Korea’s Hwang Chol Ho 4-1. And Hamza Akbar won his Group B encounter after outplaying Qatar’s Saif Ahmed 4-0.


The championship is featuring 70 players in 14 groups. The players will progress to a round-of-32 after the group stages.
