MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government on Friday slapped a ban on strikes by employees’ unions in government departments. The government also approved a law to ensure one-dish meals during weddings. The decisions were taken at a cabinet meeting presided by AJK Prime Minister Abdul Majeed. While briefing the media about the decisions taken by the AJK cabinet, finance minister Chaudhry Latif Akbar said it was also decided that voters’ list both for local bodies and general elections would be completed on a priority basis. Akbar further said the cabinet through another resolution also condemned the arrests of APHC leaders Syed Ali Shah Gilani and Musarat Alam Butt by Indian forces in Srinagar. The cabinet termed the arrests of political figures a basic HR violation and appealed to the world community to use their offices to stop killing of innocent people in Indian Kashmir.
