Bollywood is somewhat responsible for making people believe in 'happy endings' and the ' magic of love', but of course that's usually just seen in reel life. Not everyone witnesses a happy ending in real life. Mostly people end up in pieces, shattered after their relationships. Then it's all about how much it sucks and how many different kinds of terrible emotions you go through till you finally decide to move on.

Here's a list of stages every person who has been dumped goes through, which pretty much sums up every emotion corresponding to a Bollywood character doing the same.

Stage 1- Denial: Karisma Kapoor in Dil Toh Pagal Hai

The first stage is the total denial phase much like Karisma in DTPH, Trying ever-so-hard to win your love over even though he is in love with somebody else knowing that he will never be yours but refusing to accept it. Yeah, the first stage is pretty similar to that one-sided-love feeling and you'll find it very difficult to accept the truth.

Stage 2- Anger: Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar

You finally realize that your relationship is actually done for good and there's no going back to fixing things. You're just angry at everything, for absolutely no reason. You’re angry at your ex, their car, anyone who shares the same name as them and at yourself for trying so hard to win them back during the first stage.

Stage 3- Depression: Salman Khan in Tere Naam

This is the peak stage when the breakup sinks in. Everything just seems to be falling apart, food doesn't taste as good as it used to, no song can uplift your spirits. Only the Tere Naam title track plays in your head, that is if you're a typical Bollywood fan, and it’s obviously not fun. And you start wondering to yourself, how your single life was before your ex?

Stage 4- Bargaining: Imran Khan in Break Ke Baad

You give in, you kill your ego and decide to take a leap of faith, give another chance to your relationship promising your ex that you’ll change because you have had too much. You're becoming weak, you cannot handle being away and you'd rather be the creep than stay away. Just like Imran Khan in Break Ke Baad, you wouldn't mind flying down to Australia and living with them despite them not wanting it.

Stage 5- Rebound Brain: Deepika Padukone in Cocktail

After stage 4 fails miserably, you find yourself lying in the pits of despair, desperately seeking love or attention from whoever is willing to give it. Exs' sort of start annoy you and you make deliberate attempts to mess up and find a rebound love.

Stage 6- Regret: Priyanka Chopra in Fashion

Waking up the next morning with flashbacks of the rebound are the worst. You wake up to the realization that you made some major blunder the night before. High possibility that you sent your ex a text, which you really shouldn't have...

Stage 7- Straightening out your life: Ranbir Kapoor in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani

It's about time you finally decided to move on and erase all memories with/of your ex. You delete their number and pictures. Anything associated with them is thrown out. You block their Facebook. You block your Facebook. You’re just done. To hell with life, that's your new outlook towards everything.

Stage 8- Acceptance: Salmaan Khan in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

This is the letting go stage. Just as it wasn't easy for Salman to let go of his lady love in the movie, it isn't easy for you to let go either. But after nights of regret and shame you finally make sense of the situation. With a heavy heart and a last goodbye you part ways with your ex, mentally and physically, hoping you will feel lighter and have some peace of mind.

Stage 9- Finding yourself: Kangana Ranaut in Queen

Now that you've finally decided to be by yourself, you start doing things your way. You're free from all the restrictions and feelings, now its just about you. And the weirdest part is, you actually start to enjoy yourself. It's the 'I'm getting there stage.' You finally learn how to live the single life again and it feels good.

Stage 10- Back to being single: Ranveer Singh in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl

Soon enough, you’re back in form. You’re glad you’re the same person you missed a while back. You've completely settled with being single and you're finally, 'back in the game.'
