Precautionary Measures: Section 144 imposed for Sehat ka Ittehad

PESHAWAR: Peshawar DC Riaz Khan Mehsud has imposed Section 144 in the district for March 16 and 17 in light of the vaccination drive that will take place under the banner of Sehat Ka Ittehad on the said dates. Mehsud said on Saturday that motorcycle riding would be banned during the two-day drive which will be carried out to immunise children against nine diseases, including diphtheria, tetanus, polio and tuberculosis. The DC has directed Peshawar police to take action against the violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Government employees and journalists are, however, exempted from Section 144 as per the directions issued by the DC.
