ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday summoned Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials to respond to identical petitions filed by villagers from Behka Syedan who are seeking compensation for their land. Behka Syedan village, located in the centre of Sector F-11, was acquired by the CDA as part of the sector’s development. Now, some of the affected people say they have yet to be compensated by the civic agency.

On Thursday, when the petitions were taken up by the court, petitioners’ counsels Mehmoob Alam and Zulfiqar Abbasi maintained that though the CDA has compensated a majority of the villagers, it has not compensated their clients by allotting them alternative plots in Sector F-11. They requested that the court pass orders to this effect. After the preliminary hearing, IHC Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui summoned the CDA administration member and municipal administration director to appear in person on February 24.
