MANSEHRA: Forest authorities have seized illegally-cut timber and sealed an unauthorised saw machine in a village of Siran Valley, officials said on Thursday.

District Forest Officer Riaz Khan told journalists a raid was conducted on a tip-off by forest officials and anti-corruption authorities.

A saw machine belonging to Saqib Khan, a resident of Munda Gucha village, was seized. Several windows, doors and planks made from illegally-cut timber were also confiscated.

According to officials, Khan had no records to prove ownership of the timber. A criminal case was registered against him.
