Forty government schoolteachers will visit the United States under the “Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Programme”, said a press release here on Friday.

Sponsored by the US Department of State, the programme provides an opportunity to outstanding government secondary schoolteachers of English to participate in a six-week professional development training.
The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) sends outstanding secondary schoolteachers from around the globe to the US to further develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the country.
The participants will spend one week in Washington, DC, meet with US government representatives and learn about American education and culture, followed by visits to selected US universities where they will observe current teaching methods.
Since the programme’s inception in 2012, over 110 Pakistani teachers have been sent to the US.
