SAN FRANCISCO: According to the data released by Google, Pakistan tops the list of most porn-searching countries and leads the way in porn searches for animals like pigs, donkeys, dogs, cats and snakes, news website Salon reported on Thursday.

It further revealed that six of the top eight porn-searching countries were Muslim states. The country at number two in the list was Egypt, while Iran, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Turkey came in at numbers four, five, seven and eight, respectively.

The fact that porn trends within the region can even be tracked was impressive, given that the sale of pornographic material has been banned in nearly every Arab country except Lebanon and Turkey.

More recently, the Saudi Arabian government also announced that it had hacked and disabled about 9,000 Twitter accounts associated with the publication of pornography and arrested many of the handles’ owners. The move was organised by the Commission for the Promotion and Prevention of Vice, also known as Haia, the Saudi religious police.

Many Muslim states declare that cemented social morals should not be violated. The data out there, however, suggest their public may feel otherwise.

Well there are some concerns about report.
First there are only 10% INTERNET users in Pakistan where as UK, US have 85%+ users. Is it possible that whole 10% or part of it searches Porn to a greater level than the majority users? But perhaps it can be and why not
Second the porn sites are blocked and the way to get them is by use of proxy. The proxies change the location. Even after changing location Pakistan tops the searches. Thats not so gullible.

If they are saying Muslims are on the top of overall porn search. Then it might be because of the other factors where other Non-Muslim countries exceed. like
    – Prostitution
    – Alcoholism
    – Pub
    – Bars
    – Weed, Ecstasy etc.

The Non-Muslim satisfy themselves on above mentioned ways. While in Muslim countries people find it very hard (impossible) to get these things. I am not justifying the pornography. I am just highlighting the factors.
There is one more factor. The Muslim countries are not working 100% as per “Sharia Laws and as Welfare States”. I guess people in Muslim state are frustrated because of lack of proper business, education, health benefits etc.

It is alarming for Muslim Govt. They need to do take steps in order to release this frustration alongside blocking such material.

whereas in Muslim Countries .. Due to Blockade the User have to search (via Google Search engines) a yet unblock or new site every time … resulting in higher number of queries ..

Pakistanis should feel ashamed of suicide blasts, minority genocide, beheadings etc. etc….. Porn is relatively harmless when compared to violance committed in the name of religion. What is the so called big deal about sex. As long as one bears the consequence of sex like STDs, unwanted pregnancies, there is nothing inherently immoral about sex or porn. Sexually liberated societies like Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Canada are among the happiest nations on earth. Make love, not war.

It is true that incident of rape has increased in big cities but that is also a reflection of the fact that more women today are coming out openly to tell they have been raped. This would not have happened in the past. Media has also become much more powerful and vocal in highlighting cases of rape.
Most of rapes in the past would happen between the girl and someone close to her in the house and the girl would be ashamed to come out and tell the story. More rapes are now happening outside the house. So, what has changed?
I think change has to do with the way middle class women in India have forged ahead. I see women everywhere: in MNCs, in Bank, in IT, etc. And they are there in high positions bossing over men! Having enough money to go around, these women seem to be having a ball. They are going to late night with their boy friends, attending parties and coming home late.
While this happening, in big cities there is also this immigrant men population that seems to be left behind in this rat race. Semi skilled or unskilled, they have not much to do than drift. This is the population that chances upon a lone girl returning home from a party or waiting for someone late at night. Impotent as these men are in other matters, they seem to show their power over women in indulging in this heinous act.
Better survaillence by police, educating women what to avoid etc will go a long way in reducing crime against women. Until then, it is a long battle ahead for them.

They are going to late night with their boyfriends, attending parties and coming home late.
While this happening in big cities, there is also this immigrant men population that seems to be left behind in this rat race. Semi-skilled or unskilled, they have not much to do than drift away in squalor. This is the population that chances upon a lone girl returning home from a party or waiting for someone late at night. Impotent as these men are in other matters, they seem to show their power over women by indulging in this heinous act.
Better surveillance by police, educating women what to avoid etc. will go a long way in reducing crime against women. Until then, it is a long battle ahead for them

I have myself checked on Google, and in almost all sex and porn related top queries India usually stands at the top 3 positions, while Pakistan is around 10th position or even lower. Any good newspaper would have checked facts before printing something that could create a wrong image of the country, but then good newspapers don’t rely on foreign assistance.

Non sense from a Western Owned and funded newspaper. This is just impossible so present your FACTS and SOURCES and makes no sense why our media buys western news and runs it a wild. Clearly Pakistani newspaper knows nothing about Propoganda warfare or does and using it against us.
Lets look at it logically. Pakistan is the 5th -6th biggest country population wise, so it will make it to the highest list as it is.
However 10000s of phonographic sites were censored. Try accessing them and see. So if people are re-routing their ISPs to access such sites and youtube, their ISPs WONT be Pakistani, and therefor this news makes NO sense!

Thats not so gullible.Recommend
