Jahangir records seven-under par to dominate second round

Lahore Gymkhana’s player leads the pack with 137 points

KARACHI: Lahore Gymkhana’s Adil Jahangir dominated the second round of the Bank Al Habib’s 4th Rashid Habib Memorial National Professional Golf Tournament by playing seven-under par and amassing 137 points at the Karachi Golf Club on Saturday.

Jahangir led the score board from the first stroke with Lahore Garrison’s Matloob Ahmed, who finished day two with 138 points, offering the only substantial competition, while Islamabad Golf Club’s Sajjad Khan and Karachi’s Waheed Baloch tied in third place with 141 points.

Pakistan’s top golfer Shabbir Iqbal had a bad day as he missed a lot of chances to finish in fourth.

While, Jahangir stunned his competitors on day-two, scoring 67 points, defending champion Afsar Ali found it tough and slumped to 22nd position with 147 points.

Meanwhile, in the senior professionals’ category, Lahore gymkhana’s Asghar Ali led the scoreboard with144 points, while Muhammad Ilyas and Ghani Khan secured second and third position with 146 points.
