PESHAWAR: Muttahida Qaumi Movement delegation, including Farooq Sattar, Rashid Godil and Babar Ghauri, on Thursday visited the Army Public School in Peshawar.

“We came to pay tribute to the martyrs,” Sattar said while speaking to reporters outside the school.

Extending support to the families of the victims, Sattar said, “Martyrs of Peshawar incident must be bestowed with Sitar-e-Imtiaz.”

Lauding the bravery of the children who returned to school on January 12, not even a month after it was a scene of carnage, Babar Ghauri said, “We are ashamed that the friends of your murderers are a part of politics and are taking U-turns through different ways.”

On December 16, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan gunmen stormed into the army-run school in Peshawar killing 150 people, including 134 children.

Yesterday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan visited the Army Public School as well but in contrast to the MQM's peaceful welcome he was greeted with protesting parents.
