Amid tight security: APS to reopen on January 12

Most work in the affected parts of the school including the auditorium and classes has been completed

PESHAWAR: The Army Public School and College (APS) that lost its over 130 students on December 16 in a Taliban attack is set to reopen on January 12 (Monday) amid tight security. Most work in the affected parts of the school including the auditorium and classes has been completed. The height of the surrounding walls was increased and CCTV cameras were installed for security. “We are in high spirit and will go to school along with all teaching staff on Monday after the tragic incident. This school has become an example of bravery in the face of terrorism and we will teach with more enthusiasm,” APS teacher Qari Abdul Basit told Express News. Moreover, the provincial government is going to ban all kind of gatherings in the state-run schools in the aftermath of APS attack. Government High Secondary School-3 Peshawar City has been declared as most sensitive, according to official sources.
