DUBAI: Influential Lyari gang war leader Uzair Baloch was arrested in Dubai by the Interpol on Monday afternoon, Express News reported.

Conflicting reports emerged on Monday about the arrest of the chief of the Karachi City Alliance – previously known as the defunct Peoples Amn Committee.

According to initial reports, Baloch was either arrested at the Dubai International Airport or while traveling to Dubai by road from Muscat.

Baloch and others were declared proclaimed offenders by an Anti-Terrorism Court on July 23, 2013 in the murder case of alleged Lyari gangster, Arshad Pappu.

Pakistani authorities are currently getting in touch with the concerned authorities in Dubai to confirm the arrest.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
