ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is organising an international conference on emerging trends in engineering to facilitate communication between multidisciplinary teams, especially those involved in engineering, management, and sciences.

The conference, being held in collaboration with the Department of Construction Management, East Carolina University and Auburn University, USA, will start from Monday at the CDA Training Academy, said a press release issued on Saturday.

Over 100 delegates from 12 countries will participate in the conference, which will provide a platform for discussion on important topics and emerging trends to develop new knowledge in engineering, information technology, management and sciences.

“The focus of the conference is to promote cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in these core areas, so that efficient and cost-effective solutions are explored for contemporary problems and issues.”

An international scientific committee of renowned experts will review all abstracts and full papers. CDA members and other officials and students from different universities will attend the conference.

Meanwhile, the authority claimed that its campaign against the sale of unhygienic, expired and adulterated edible is proceeding successfully.

Special health services directorate teams conducted various raids during the month of December and confiscated 15 litres of expired unbranded ketchup, 10 kg of rotten tomatoes and 10 litres of unbranded cooking oil and 43 dozen rotten bananas. Moreover, 40 cracked or chipped utensils were also confiscated and subsequently destroyed. During the operation, the teams also sealed one bakery for selling unhygienic and substandard food items.
