LAHORE: The initiatives taken by microfinance institutions such as the Foundation for International Community Assistance (FINCA) empower low-income individuals to start business, provide jobs, alleviate poverty and create new opportunities, said Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael, while addressing the opening ceremony of FINCA’s first priority branch in Garden Town, Lahore. He said the microcredit facilities provided by FINCA, in conjunction with its fast expansion plan, would allow aspiring low-income entrepreneurs to increase revenues and eradicate poverty.
