ANF busts drug-trafficking gangs

The anti-narcotics force (ANF) Rawalpindi has busted a drug trafficking gangs operating between Gujar Khan and Rawalpindi.


The ANF team also arrested four suspects, impounded three vehicles and seized 15kg of heroin from them, said a press release issued here on Monday.

On a tip-off, the ANF Rawalpindi intercepted three Toyota Corolla cars (LES-2743, LEH-9892, and LEI-7389) near Golra Mor on GT Road and recovered 5kgs of heroin from the cars. Four suspects, who were identified as Abdul Razzaq and Rizwan Ahmed, residents of Lahore, Arsalan Akhtar, a resident of Rawalpindi and Naqash Iqbal, a resident of Jhelum, were also taken into custody.

The suspects were smuggling the contraband from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Rawalpindi and Lahore for further transporting it to foreign countries.
