Four shops and a poultry farm were damaged in two different fire accidents

Four shops and a poultry farm were damaged in two different fire accidents, police said on Saturday.


Hazara police said the first incident was reported from Thanda Katha village where a fire erupted in a poultry farm. The inferno destroyed the shed, feed worth Rs250,000 and a tractor trolley while over 3,000 chicks perished in the incident. The farm’s owner, Riaz Hussain, estimated the loss at Rs2 million and demanded compensation from the government.


The second incident occurred in Jhangi, Abbottabad. According to the police, the fire erupted in a furniture showroom and soon engulfed another showroom and two other shops.


All the inventory and five vehicles were reduced to ashes. Fire tenders from cantonment board and tehsil municipal committee were able to put the fire out and save adjoining shops in the market. Shop owners Waheed, Malik Younas, Haji Razzaq and Babar estimated the loss at Rs3.5 million.
