ISLAMABAD: The FIA has registered an FIR in human trafficking case in which 19 Afghan nationals travelled to the UK on fake documents by PIA on two flights in September this year. According to documents available with The Express Tribune, an FIR has been registered on the complaint of Col SJ Francis of Royal Marines Navy through the British High Commission. Sources said that PM’s assistant on aviation Shujaat Azeem played key role in registration of FIR as the FIA was reluctant to do so. These people travelled through an agent Naveed Abbas, who is involved in human trafficking and travelled to UK from Pakistan about nine times in short period of about four months and later was arrested by British authorities. However, all of them were held by the UK Boarder Agency at the Heathrow Airport on Sept-22.
