KARACHI: A gang of robbers looted Rs800,000 from the North Nazimabad branch of Allied Bank Limited, located within the limits of Taimuria police station on Wednesday. Six armed men riding three motorcycles came to the branch in Block N, said police officials, quoting witnesses. Five of the men entered the bank and held staff members and a security guard hostage at gunpoint. They added that the robbers took around Rs800,000 and the guard's weapon before fleeing. It took them around five minutes to complete their swift operation. Police officials were unable to obtain the CCTV footage since there was a power failure in the area and the bank generator was out of order at the time. The police have yet to register the case but are making a sketch of the suspects with the help of the witnesses.
