PESHAWAR: Governor Sardar Mehtab Abbasi has approved two high-level committees to prepare recommendations for investment opportunities in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).

A statement issued from the Governor House on Sunday said a ten-member team has been tasked to prepare recommendations for investment opportunities as well as facilities that could be provided to investors.

“The committee has been asked to prepare recommendations in one month. It (the committee) has to closely monitor business [activities] in the tribal areas,” the notification read, adding the committee, if deemed necessary, should contact the federal board of revenue as well. This team tasked with accelerating economic development in Fata will be chaired by K-P Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority President Nauman Wazir.

Meanwhile, constituents of another 10-member committee have been asked to prepare recommendations on the available business opportunities as well as their expansion, added the handout.
