He was speaking to participants of the concluding session of Indigenous On-campus Training (IOT) arranged by the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC). “Learning is a continuous process.
If one stops learning, it leads to stagnation that is the main hurdle to bringing about positive changes.”
The vice chancellor said many people in society resisted change. He called for measures to shun the traditional way of thinking and adopt innovative approaches in economic activity, including agriculture and rural development.
Khan said hands-on training had gained importance across the world in view of new challenges and development goals.
He said he hoped the training would help enhance efficiency and accuracy in the performance of the employees concerned.
ORIC Director Prof Asif Ali said the session was the third in a series of training programme of the administrative staff.
He said that in summer, training of the supporting and lower-cadre staff of the university would be arranged.
Earlier, Treasurer Umar Saeed said the university’s income had witnessed a substantial increase over the last five years.
He said all-out efforts were being made to provide modern facilities to students and campus community. He said an Internal Audit Directorate had been set up to make the financial management more transparent. He said it was essential to check financial transparency at all times.
Asif Latif said the world had become a global village because of the technological advancement. Deputy Registrar Qamar Bukhari, ORIC Deputy Directors Abdul Rasheed and Naveed, Sports Assistant Director Salma Masood and ORIC Manger Farooq Hassan also spoke on the occasion.
