FAISALABAD:

Unidentified men on Thursday abducted a college student from Samundri Saddar police area. Relatives of the student gathered at Samundri-Faisalabad Road and blocked it for traffic.

Muhammad Amjad, one of the protesters, told newsmen that 19-year-old Maryam, daughter of Muhammad Arshad, was going to college with a rickshaw with a friend.

He said two unidentified men riding a motorbike stopped the rickshaw at gunpoint.

He said they took Maryam with them and fled from the scene. Upon hearing the news, her parents, relatives and neighbours staged a demonstration near Moti Keekar Adda and blocked the road for traffic. The protestors chanted slogans and demanded immediate recovery of the abducted girl.
