Levies official killed in Pishin checkpost attack

An attacker was killed, while another was arrested from whom weapons, a radio and a motorcycle was recovered

QUETTA: A Balochistan Levies official was killed and another was injured when a group of armed men attacked a check post in Pishin district on Friday. One attacker was also killed, while another was arrested.

According to an official of Levies in Pishin, two armed men opened fire at a checkpost in Khanozai area, killing Levies official Abdul Razzaq on the spot, and injured Noorullah.

Additional units of Levies rushed to site after hearing attack. One of the attackers was killed in the ensuing exchange of fire, while Levies personnel chased the second attacker and arrested him after a brief exchange of fire. A Kalashnikov was recovered from the dead attacker.

“A TT pistol, a radio and a motorcycle was recovered from the attacker,” a Levies official told The Express Tribune.

The injured Levies official was shifted to a hospital in Quetta for treatment.
