FAISALABAD:

Parleys at the official level are crucial in order to enhance trade volume between Pakistan and Indonesia, said Indonesian Chargé d'affaires Samsu Rizal. He was talking to Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Engineer Rizwan Ashraf.

He said that both countries are enjoying cordial diplomatic relations but it is not reflected in economic terms and efforts are needed to fully capitalise the existing trade potential.

“No doubt the trade balance is currently in favour of Indonesia but recent developments will help Pakistan increase its share and bridge the wide gap between imports and exports,” he said, particularly referring to the export of kinnow and mango to Indonesia.

“Pakistan should also intensify its efforts to increase textile exports.”
