Bilateral trade: Germany, Pakistan’s potential discussed

KARACHI:

Consul General of Germany Dr Tilo Klinner has expressed his commitment that the mission offices in Pakistan will continue their efforts to attract German investors to Pakistan.

However, he said, security concerns needed to be tackled. Consul Klinner was speaking at a ceremony at the German Consulate General, which was organised to launch German-Pakistan Trade and Investment (GPTI).

It is an organisation created to work hand-in-hand with the Pakistan German Business Forum (PGBF) to transform the existing set-up to a full-fledged self-sustaining chamber of commerce and industry.

GPTI’s board consists of German and Pakistani companies, he said. GPTI Chairman Qazi Sajjid Ali informed that GPTI has been created to spearhead services for acquiring bilateral status of the chamber with the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

They apprised the audience that the new organisation will offer information and services to potential investors and trading houses in Germany on various sectors of Pakistan.
