Ali Zafar and Sajjad Ali rock Lahore

Singers performed live in a star-studded event on Friday night.

Some of the most sought after names of Pakistani film, music and fashion scene gathered at a product launch Friday night. The guest list for the night included Ainee, Junaid Khan from Call the band, filmmaker Bilal Lashari, designers Maria B and Ali Xeeshan, singer Qurtulain Baloch, Juggun Kazim, Mikaal Zulfiqar, actor/singer Fawad Khan to name a few.

The blue and white stage looked appealing while round tables had been set up with oval lamps sitting atop each table. A live orchestra played as Hamza Ali Abbas and Ayesha Omer, the hosts for the night, welcomed everyone. Abbasi looked classy in a tuxedo while Ayesha was clad in a stunning Shehla Chatoor jumpsuit and jacket ensemble.



The highlight of the evening was an enthralling live performance by the legendary Sajjad Ali and the singer cum actor Ali Zafar. Ali was the first to come on stage, sporting a   golden jacket and boots. After performing all his popular hits, including Channo, he invited QB on stage from the audience. QB, who had just returned from the US, looked lovely in a skirt and a cropped pink top. Together, Ali and QB sang two huge hits, Yaar Dadhi and Akhiyan Nu Rehn Day.



“I had a ball of a time performing in Lahore last night. Lahore is my hometown and has always been very kind and loving. I saw many singers and stars in the audience and wanted to hear them live too, so got them on stage to sing along,” Zafar told The Express Tribune.

He further added that he likes to be interactive and impromptu as a live performer and doesn’t plan any of his live acts.



It was then time for the legendary Sajjad Ali to take to the stage. He performed all his megahits, including Bolo Bolo and Babiya, at which the crowd went crazy. He also said he had performed all over the world, but had never sung in front of such a “sureeli” audience that included the likes of singers Ainee, QB, Fawad Khan, Junaid Khan from Call the band, Ali Zafar and Ayesha Omer.
