ISLAMABAD: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has assured international development partners and donor agencies that the government will ensure transparency and quality in the execution of development projects to make the province a model for the country.

Talking to media after attending the third high-level strategic dialogue on development partnership here on Friday, Khattak said the provincial government had brought together the development partners in an effort to make them aware of the progress on these projects.

He stressed that the K-P government was holding the strategic dialogue with the partners with the objective of creating synergies to step up socio-economic development in the province.

The province had set its development targets in collaboration with the donors in education, health and other projects of the social sector, which, he said, were achieved.

According to the chief minister, they have also introduced many constitutional and legal reforms for bringing about change and improving the performance of different departments.

“Our development partners were satisfied with the progress and performance of the government in different projects and they have assured us of their continuous support for advancing different sectors.”

In the province, a legislative process is under way to do away with political influence, mismanagement and corruption in order to improve the performance of government organisations for a better service delivery.

Khattak said they had also improved the accountability system by introducing rewards on good progress and strict action against mismanagement and corruption for making the province a development model.

In addition to this, development funds were put to use in a transparent manner
for the progress of K-P and the money set aside for projects that were not initiated were spent on existing schemes.
