LAHORE:

Former law minister of Punjab Rana Sanaullah has again assumed an important role in the provincial government.

Sanaullah is heading a committee set up by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to prepare terms of reference for the reforms regarding governance and police culture.

The panel comprising MPAs and bureaucrats will submit its initial report within a week. Sanaullah chaired the first meeting of the reforms committee in the Committee Room of the Punjab Assembly the other day.

Sources said that Sanaullah has again emerged as an important figure in Punjab government and there were expectations that he might even get back the law ministry.

Sources said that although Shahbaz Sharif had asked Sanaullah to take charge of the law ministry, he declined, saying he will take the charge only after courts clear him of any wrongdoing in the Model Town firing case.
