LHC issued a show cause notice to the interior secretary on a contempt of court petition

LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Thursday issued a show cause notice to the interior secretary on a contempt of court petition. Haji Imam, the petitioner, said the Ministry of Interior had put his name on exit control list (ECL) on the request of the Anti-Narcotics Force. He said he had moved an application in court and the ministry was directed to remove his name from the ECL.  He said despite the order, his name had not been removed from the list. He asked the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the interior secretary. After hearing initial arguments, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah issued a show cause notice to the interior secretary and sought his reply by at the next hearing.  The case was adjourned for two weeks.
