Two including former FIA employee shot dead in Karachi

KARACHI: Unidentified armed motorcyclists gunned down a former Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) official outside his house near Chatti Hotel of Pirabad on Thursday.

According to SHO Pirabad Nasir Mehmood, 65-year-old Aslam Niazi, son of Ghulam Sarwar, was sitting outside his house after Maghreb prayers when the attackers opened fire at him. He sustained bullet injuries, and was taken to the Abbassi Shaheed Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

The SHO said Niazi was a former ASI in the FIA, and lived in Pirabad.

In a separate incident, unidentified armed men shot dead Moin Khan, 60, outside Haq Bahoo Astana in Patel Para on Thursday morning. The attackers fled from the area after committing the crime.

Jamshed Quarters police said the incident was a result of personal enmity.

Khan's body was later taken to the Civil Hospital for an autopsy.
