Friendly cricket: match Afridi’s team defeats Pak Army

Shahid Afridi said the players of North Waziristan have a lot of talent

BANNU: Pakistani cricket star Shahid Afridi on Wednesday said the players of North Waziristan have a lot of talent but need more opportunities to shine. Speaking after a friendly match played between Afridi IDPs-11 and Army IDPs-11, Afridi said he faced several good bowlers on the occasion and enjoyed playing the match. He promised to establish a cricket academy in Bannu to hone the skill of players in the region, adding a hospital would also be set up to provide health care facilities to people. The friendly match was won by Afridi IDPs-11 by 31 runs. Later, he prayed for the people of North Waziristan, especially for their safe return to their homes. At the end, trophies and other prizes were also distributed among both teams.
