KARACHI: Brothers Aamir and Danish Atlas Khan set up a semi-final clash against each other at the Serena Hotels Chief of Air Staff International Squash Championship in Islamabad, while Egypt’s Omar Abdel Meguid and Abdullah Muhammad Al Tamimi will contest in the second last-four encounter.

In Tuesday's first quarter-final match, Omar brushed aside qualifier Ammad Farid in straight games.

The Egyptian took just 25 minutes to book his place in the semi-finals, winning with scores of 11-3, 11-6 and 11-4. Meanwhile, the second last-eight match saw a fighting contest between Al Tamimi and Farhan Zaman.

Al Tamimi secured victory after struggling for 81 minutes as he made a comeback from 2-1 down to win 3-2, with the scoreline reading 11-7, 7-11, 13-15, 11-8 and 11-9.

However, Abbas Shoukat’s stunning run in the event came to a halt as the youngster had to pull out due to injury in the fifth game against Danish.

Asian Senior Individual Squash Champion Aamir won 3-1 against Nasir Iqbal with ease, registering scores of 12-10, 4-11,12-10 and 11-5.
