HYDERABAD:

Federal state minister Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has accused the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI)  and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT)  of attempting to subvert the democratic process in the country. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad on Sunday, Haideri said the two parties were out to destroy the nascent democracy.

"The politicians forcing the PM to resign at gunpoint will end up disappointed," he said. "The nation should now realise these politicians' objectives, especially after the disclosures made by former army chief Gen (retd) Mirza Aslam Beg."  Haideri, who is also general secretary of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam - Fazlur Rehman, said that his party will stand as a bulwark in the way of realisation of PTI chief Imran Khan's agenda. Drawing attention towards the issue of border attacks by the Indian military, he urged the PTI and PAT to rise above their political differences and play their part in national defence.

The JUI-F leader welcomed the Pakistan Peoples Party's chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's entrance in practical politics through his October 18 rally in Karachi. However, he said despite his political lineage, the young politician has a long way to go before becoming a leader of the people. "Bilawal's advisers are advising him to make charged speeches like Imran Khan," he observed.
