Police take body to a hospital for post mortem examination

BAHAWALPUR: A man and a woman committed suicide in separate incidents on Wednesday in Bahawalpur. Muhammad Asif*, a resident of Mud Rasheed near Ahmadpur East, threw himself in front of a train. “Asif’s father, Manzoor Rind, had admonished him after he did not bring fodder for the cattle. Asif went to the Uch railway crossing and committed suicide. He was identified from his identity card,” police said. The body has been handed over to the family. In the second incident, Sadia*, 16, a resident of Sheikh Bhakkar village near Jamaldinwali, committed suicide by taking sleeping pills. Jamaldinwali police said Sadia had asked her parents to marry her to a neighbour. She committed suicide after they refused. Police have taken the body to a hospital for post mortem examination.
