The former outspoken SC judge, in his legal notice which is available with The Express Tribune said, “The false, slanderous, libelous and sinful accusations in question leveled by you, which are a manifestation of the worst kind of ‘hate speech’, have injured and harmed my hard-earned reputation and have lowered/tend to lower me in the estimation of others. These allegations have subjected/tend to subject me to ridicule, unjust criticism, dislike and hatred.”
“Not just this, your malicious allegations have also harmed and injured [my] pride, which members of my family including my children and my descendants, had always had in me and your said reckless accusations have caused immeasurable agony, pain and suffering to us all,” the notice added.
Justice Ramday has given Imran a 14-day limit to apologise for his accusations.
“I, therefore, call upon you to tender a public apology to me withdrawing and repudiating the false, the illusory, the unfounded and the baseless allegations in question leveled by you against me. May I also inform you that as per Section 8 of the Defamation Ordinance 2002, you have fourteen days time to do the needful, failing which I shall be at liberty to take recourse to such legal remedies in such jurisdictions as may be available to me to vindicate my honour and respect which include my right to sue you for damages and to prosecute you for the criminal act of defamation,” said the legal notice.
Ramday, in his defamation notice, also said that the PTI chief had accused him of having a 'dawaat' at his house in which he had invited returning officers and had former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry as the chief guest.
He said he had been accused of orchestrating this 'dawaat' during which the former chief justice was allegedly motivating the returning officers to help Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
"This allegation, to say the least, is malicious and a baseless and unfounded fabrication which is absolutely false and denied as such," he said in the notice.
A copy of the defamation notice can be viewed below:
The PTI chief had 'revealed' the names of those allegedly complicit in the rigging of the elections on August 12, inclusing Ramday as well as former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Punjab’s former caretaker chief minister Najam Sethi and Punjab’s Election Commission member Riaz Kayani.
The former CJP also sent Imran a Rs20 billion defamation notice.

These group of judges used to be IK's heroes. However, they did not fully and directly benefit him so they are all bad. The election was rigged but judges of HC and SC not even members of EC are all bad! Mush was IK's favorite but he became bad. IK keeps going on his own words. He bad mouthed CJ but apologized now time to eat his own words and apologize again. This old man who has never worked in his life for a living does not know that he should not open his big mouth without thinking. One should have self-respect and no apologies would restore respect.
"Brothes rand sisters. Our entire judicial system is corrupt and broken. This system needs to be overhauled. Only military courts can now deliver any justice…..major changes must be brought about in the judicial system from the top down and judges held accountable"
Thi is Zia ul Haq talking. Its no you its the ISI funding talking. Surely we dont need intelligence services every one here is a Jasoos
So what if ex Judges win!
Go Nawaz Go
We have a very highly contradictory constitution that is based on a political and religious bias and need to be improved/updated and rightly interpreted. Courts have not done so with a simple reason of give and take policy to hide (corruption) I mean all institutions including the defence ministry. If a 'man' Imran Khan is right, he should challenge and prove his claim and become a greater leader surpassing even the Quaid. CAN HE DO THAT!!! I BELIEVE HE CAN'T AS HE IS ALSO A PART OF THAT CORRUPTION SO THERE WILL BE A HUSH-UP. But he is definitely waking up the people and causing a change that once Bhutto brought while playing with the sentiments of a traditional society.

@Iqbal Hadi Zaidi: And irony of fate is that he is a former judge of a Superior court of the land not a common man.
Elections were rigged no doubt and these fellows held public office at that time. Hence, they are responsible for rigging as well. They may all not be 100% responsible but yes they do need to understand that all public office holders have a responsibility for free and fair elections.
Don't you find it funny that all IK allegations are against former judges and none against present. Is he afraid or what?
I see a lawyer, a politician and now a former judge have sent him notices, if he has some proof then please bring in front of public.
The truth is that these defamation notices mean nothing. If these retired honourable judges had done anything to improve civil laws, they would not have seen these days. Keep it up Imran Khan, nobody can harm you. In Naya Pakistan which you are building, nobody need any honour and respect.
@Blithe:
And yet IK never sent a defamation to that court in LA , nor did he provide DNA sample
Utter nonsense! What does your comment have to do with corrupt election rigging judges?
@Blithe: what IK did or did not do is out of place here. The issue here is that what is the cost of the 'good' names and reputation of all such men who played havoc with the destiny of this unfortunate nation. It is all about money, after all, isn't it, one wonders what and how much would it take satisfy their insatiable hunger of this greedy lot.
this is how law is used to supress people if this doesn't work, gullu shows up with stick.
For the PTI cult, guilty = their guru's latest epiphany.
Go Nawaz go and take the rest of the gang with you. All of them are no good, they all must go.
And yet IK never sent a defamation to that court in LA , nor did he provide DNA sample
Combine all these noticies, 10 B, 20 B, 15 B, Drama never stops in Pakistan.
Future prediction: None of the cases will be resolved
Can anyone defame somebody who never had a great reputation has been with soiled reputation of questionable integrity in the eyes of common man as long as he has been around in public life. History of his reputation remains in public domain and would continue to haunt him and no courts can erase the perception embossed in public memory about him being a man less than fit to be where he used to be.
International courts but why? Don't we have our courts to dispense justice rather than going to IC? Iqbal Hadi Zaidi
Sounds like a pre emptive strike!
Lol! You know they are guilty when the only way they defend themselves is through a defamation notice!
Imran Khan Zindabaad! PTI Zindabaad!
