Court grants 7-day physical remand of accused in Zahra Shahid murder case

PTI leader was shot on the doorstep of her residence over a year ago

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court granted on Friday a seven-day physical remand of the alleged murderers of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Zahra Shahid, Express News reported.

Shahid was fatally shot on the doorstep of her residence in Karachi on May 18, 2013.

The perpetrators were presented before the court on Friday. Both men were brought to the court amid high security and their faces were veiled while they were being taken inside the premises.

One of the accused, Rashid, was arrested about 10 days ago, while the other man, Zahid, was arrested a day ago.

South DIG Abdul Khalique Sheikh told The Express Tribune that Rashid was the key player in the murder.
