LAHORE: A fire that broke out in Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) exchange building early Sunday has disrupted telecommunication services in Lahore, Express News reported.
Rescue officers are busy extinguishing the fire which - according to unofficial estimates - has caused losses worth millions of rupees.
The fire erupted on one of the floors of the building located on the city’s Egerton Road at around midnight and later engulfed other floors and nearby buildings.
Firemen had managed to put out the fire last night, however, it started again this morning.
While talking to Express News, PTCL officials said that it will take three to four days to restore services across the city.
All helplines including Rescue 1122, Edhi and state call centers are down because of the fire.
Rescuers are unable to confirm the exact cause of the fire as the building is too hot to be inspected.

Ufone services are still not working for gujranwala. People are suffering very much disturbances while making contacts to their family and relatives. Internet service is also too much slow. Hope all things will be managed soon.

The minimum requirements for fire control and prevention are smoke detectors, sprinklers, CO2 extinguishers, fire doors, fire exits and high pressure hydrants supplied by an overhead water tanks. If ET will investigate and report, you will be doing a public service. All essential service buildings should be protected accordingly. I can provide further advice if asked.

Just wanted to know was there voice recording devices and records in the building. Normally where ever the sensitive data is present the building catches fire, it could be LDA, could be police stations record rooms, courts rooms, etc etc......

lemme guess that particular telephone exchange had certain incriminating call records on certain "calls" involving a "certain" incumbent government members regarding a "certain" tragedy, etc . and conveniently caught fire due to a "short circuit" , coincidence ?? there are no such things
