MULTAN: Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, the sacked president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has claimed that Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar had arranged a meeting between PTI chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri in London.

“I was told during a PTI meeting that Chaudhry Sarwar wants accountability of the corrupt leaders in Pakistan,” Hashmi told a news conference at his residence in Multan hours after PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi strongly criticised him for betraying the party.

Hashmi claimed that Imran and Qadri had also secretly met several times in Pakistan. “But I was not informed about their meeting in London although I had heard about the organisers,” he added.

Hashmi said Imran was a patriotic leader, who should think for the real future of the people of Pakistan. “Both Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif are cowards as they don’t have the courage to talk to me and invite me to their party,” said Hashmi who has been accused by PTI leaders of being hand in glove with the Sharifs.

Hashmi alleged that retired generals of Pakistan Army were devastating the political culture of the country and asked them to have mercy on the nation.

Giving space in the media to a discredited politician.......just diminishes the status of the media outlet.
