Co-curricular: Girls encouraged to take part in sports

Afzal said the Punjab government is trying to make the future generation capable to shoulder challenges.

Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Chaudhry Sarfraz Afzal has appreciated active participation of girls in sports activities.


He addressed students at an awards ceremony of sport competitions in connection with the Independence Day celebrations at Government Postgraduate College for Women, Satellite Town, on Saturday.


Afzal said the Punjab government is trying to make the future generation capable to shoulder challenges being confronted by the country. He said the youth have actively participated in Punjab Youth and Sports Festival 2014, which made a number of new world records.


He congratulated the principal, teachers, students and the staff for their performance in curricular and co-curricular activities. Dr Alia Sohail Khan, the principal, said that a sports-science discipline has been introduced in the college which would help promote sports among students.
