Best foot forward: Teams selected for junior taekwondo

K-P Taekwondo Association President Ilyas Afridi said the selection was made after thorough trials.

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Taekwondo Association named both male and female teams on Sunday for the forthcoming National Junior Taekwondo Championship. The championship will kick off on September 3, 2014 at Jinnah Sports Complex Islamabad. K-P Taekwondo Association President Ilyas Afridi said the selection was made after thorough trials. These were conducted under chief selector Murtaza Hassan, who is also the secretary general of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation. They took place at Qayyum Sports Complex where 50 boys and 10 girls turned up. Afridi said Muhammad Sheraz, Muhammad Asif, Ayaz Niaq, Javed Yasin and Waqar Afridi acted as referees. Among 50 players took part in the day-long trials.
