Free man: MPA granted bail

The court granted bail subject to production of Rs100,000 bail bonds.

Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Ishtiaq Ahmed on Friday granted bail to provincial assembly member Rana Shoaib Idrees.


The MPA is accused of attacking a police station, creating a law and order situation and forcibly freeing a man detained by the police.

He was arrested by the Khurrianwala police when his interim bail was not extended by the court on September 4. He was later sent to jail on judicial remand. The police have arrested eight other people in the case. Muhammad Zakariya, one of the people, is an uncle of the MPA. He was granted bail on Thursday. A panel of advocates appeared on behalf of the MPA in the court and argued that he was wrongly implicated by the police.

The court granted bail subject to production of Rs100,000 bail bonds. The court also directed prosecution to complete challan of the case and submit it for trial by September 22.

Not surprised. We loose the trust on system. There should be some way to punish big fishes.
