Shady business: Six unregistered clinics sealed

HARIPUR:

Six unregistered clinics were sealed by the Abbottabad Health Regulatory Authority (HRA) on Wednesday. HRA officials served notices to three others, warning them of legal action if they fail to abide by the rules.

Saeedur Rehman, a divisional inspector of the HRA, told The Express Tribune his team the unregistered clinics in an ongoing drive against quacks and unregistered health care practitioners in Haripur. The establishments sealed and barred from practice are Aman Dental Clinic, Hakim Zulfiqar Ali Dawakhana, Sajjad Dental Clinic, Noor Dental Clinic, Al Faisal Dental Clinic and Doctors Hospital & Maternity Home.

Rehman added these clinics and maternity homes were being run by the unqualified medical staff and paramedics.

The HRA officials said Darul Shifa Dawakhana, Dr Jawad Mujeed Clinic and Aslam Homeo Clinic were told to register with the authority within three days otherwise they would also be sealed.
