KARACHI: Cueist Imran Shehzad is eyeing the 6th NBP Snooker Ranking Championship title after reaching the final by defeating Abdul Sattar 6-5 in their last-four encounter played at the NBP Sports Complex, Karachi.

It was far from a free-flowing match as both players struggled to pile big breaks and had to settle for close wins in most of the frames.

Imran started off brightly, racing to a 3-1 lead, but from there on, the match became more competitive as Sattar matched him for the remainder of the match and only lost the contest by dropping the last frame with a mere margin of six points.

Imran eventually won with scores of 89-28, 42-52, 71-47, 88-25, 54-66, 33-82, 49-62, 55-41, 42-82, 78-31 and 44-38.

“I’ve set my sights on winning this ranking championship as it will help me reach the top rank in Pakistan,” he told The Express Tribune.
