#ThrowbackThursday Junaid Jamshed with pop bands and cricketers

Pakistani music has always been famous for its affinity with cricket

Pakistani music has always been famous for its affinity with cricket. Back in the day, any music video that featured Pakistani cricketers was a sure-fire hit. Tu Hai Kahan was one such song that brought together then music virtuoso Junaid Jamshed and pop bands Strings and Awaz, with its video featuring noted cricketers Wasim Akram and Abdul Razzaq, among others. Pictured above are Jamshed, Haroon, Akram and Razzaq. Interestingly, the picture depicts them as swapping professions as Haroon holds a bat and Akram, a guitar. It also juxtaposes music and cricket to portray that the two go hand in hand in Pakistan. While Jamshed parted ways with music, Haroon went on with his career as a solo artiste after Awaz disbanded. Wasim Akram went on to become the first bowler to take 500 ODI wickets before retiring in 2003, and Razzaq continues to play in foreign T20 leagues. What a great refresher of our memories!
