KARACHI: Top seed Nasir Iqbal will take on third seed Danish Atlas Khan in the $10,000 Hashim Khan Memorial Tournament final on Thursday in Peshawar.

Nasir, who is currently Pakistan’s highest-ranked player in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) rankings, has won seven PSA tournaments in his career, whereas Danish has six titles.

So far, both Nasir and Danish, who is currently world number 73, have faced off three times in PSA tournaments, with Nasir leading 3-0.

In the semi-finals, Nasir hardly broke sweat as he thrashed unseeded Ammad Fareed 3-0. He won with a scoreline of 11-4, 11-9 and 11-6 in just 32 minutes.

On the other hand, Danish came back from 2-0 down to win a five-setter against second-seed Farhan Zaman.

The diminutive Farhan, known for his attacking stroke-play, had a great chance of going into the final, but he squandered a two-frame lead as Danish won with scores of 8-11, 9-11, 11-5, 11-3 and 11-8 in 70 minutes.
